There are CT scans, and then there are CT scans.

by Dr. Rande Lazar on April 23, 2012

Approximately 62 million CT scans are performed every year in the United States to diagnose various conditions of the sinus, temporal bones, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, etc. However, the skill of the CT technologist performing the examination, the type of equipment used, and the background and knowledge of the physician interpreting the results are critical to determining the results.

To ensure that ENT Memphis provides the very best care available, we submitted ourselves to review and scrutiny by the ICACTL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Computed Tomography Laboratories).

ICACTL is a nonprofit group widely respected in the medical community, whose mission it is to improve healthcare through these rigorous accreditation processes. In fact, this accreditation is so respected that many insurance companies require their providers of CT services to be accredited.

On January 19, 2012, the ICACTL granted its “seal of approval” to ENT Memphis. The seal of approval indicates that ENT Memphis has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of CT.

Accreditations by the ICACTL mean that ENT Memphis has undergone a thorough review of its’ operational and technical components by a panel of experts. Accreditation is only granted to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive process, including detailed case study review and on-site inspection.

When you need a CT scan, we encourage you to consider the entire process that may result in an accurate treatment plan. We encourage you to find providers and facilities that are ICACTL accredited.
